Interesting Experiences: Swinging!
This was taken at Lake Compounce (an amusement park) in Connecticut. That is the top of a 180ft pole in the upper left corner. They pull you up whilst suspended in a canvas harness... then you pull the rip cord and take a dive before swinging back and forth for a while. It is actually a little unnerving, not because of the height, but because you are on a 1/8th inch cable and are looking straight down with nothing holding you but a cooking apron.
By the way, despite appearances to the contrary, I've not gained an romantic interest in Erik. Riders are supposed to lock arms at the top before pulling the cord. Not sure why exactly.
